A collection of recorded presentations by Kristin Kali, LM CPM for midwives, physicians, doulas, childbirth educators and others who serve LGBTQ people in the process of pregnancy, birth and family integration. | taught by Kristin Kali, LM CPM

Course description

This self-paced course is appropriate for anyone who works with birthing families. It addresses many of the psychosocial issues that are common during LGBTQ conception, pregnancy and birth. It will inform your practice whether you are a midwife, doula, physician, acupuncturist, lactation consultant, or other birth related professional.

Foundations

The course begins with the Foundations chapter. In this chapter, you'll see Kristin Kali, LM CPM, presenting "Providing Culturally Sensitive Care for LGBTQ Families", a 4-hour video covering the essentials of this course, and "Caring for Transgender and Genderqueer Clients with Cultural Humility", a 90-minute talk focusing specifically on gender diversity in healthcare. Two additional short videos complement the information covered in these presentations.

Caring for Transgender and Genderqueer Clients with Cultural Humility is also available as a standalone webinar rental on our Vimeo page!

Specialized Content

Once you've completed the Foundations chapter, explore the specialized content tailored to doulas, childbirth educators, midwives and midwifery educators and leaders. This content provides added context and information specific to each profession, but all chapters are available to students regardless of their field, and you can navigate between chapters at your own pace.
